Walking programmes
Looking to join a walking group? Be Well leisure and wellbeing services run a number of Active Outdoors walking programmes from venues across Wigan and Leigh.
Most walking programmes range from 1 to 2 hours, with short 30 minute walks available, so there's something suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.
Facilities and accessibility
A large car park is located near Haigh Hall and has a number of disabled parking spaces available. Haigh Woodland Park is now operating a ticketed barrier pay system in all car parks. This means payment is on exit from the car park, so there will be no ticket to display.
Car parking is free up to 30 minutes, £1.50 between 30 mins and 90 mins, and £3 all day thereafter. Parking can be paid using cash or card. The car park is open 8am-5pm weekdays and 7.30am-5pm at the weekend.
All pathways in the upper side of the park are accessible for wheelchair users. Further down from our picnic areas, some of the walking paths are uneven and rougher in terrain so those with accessibility issues may require assistance.
